TREASURES OF THE TIMBAVATI

TIMBAVATI GAME RESERVE, GREATER KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

An exclusive camp for your safari or Photography Workshop, with a maximum of 8 guests, we can deliver a tailored and personal experience of the African Bushveld.

We have chosen the Timbavati Game Reserve, which is situated in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. All artificial barriers between the Timbavati and the adjacent Kruger National Park have been removed. This prime wilderness area boasts the 'Big Five', a large diversity of antelope species, the entire range of smaller predators and over 500 bird species, a tremendous diversity of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. The landscape is typical of the undulating granitic Lowveld basin with large broad-leafed trees dominating the uplands, followed by Acacia woodlands, which give way to the large trees that form the riverine vegetation in the valley bottoms. Highly productive and open sodic areas dominate along the sandy riverbeds. Traversing extends over 10000 ha.

The Camp is small, private and exclusive.

There are 4 comfortable tents with netting over the windows, keeping the insects out but letting all the wonderful night sounds of the African bushveld flow in. The spacious tents are simply and elegantly furnished. Each tent has its own plumbed, en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin.

There is a covered lounge area on the veranda at the main lodge and a cosy fire pit to gather around in the evening. This boma overlooks a sandy riverbed and is shaded by huge Jackalberry trees.

Take a dip in the camp plunge pool to cool off at midday or sit under your own private veranda at the entrance to your tent for some peace and quiet.

Delicious meals will be prepared specially for you by our camps local chef allowing you to enjoy the bushveld and put your feet up.
